The pair were reportedly travelling to attend popular Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah's highly anticipated "Ndini Mukudzeyi" concert in Edmonton when the fatal incident occurred.

Families Launch Appeals for Repatriation and Burial Funds
In the wake of this sudden and immense loss, the grieving families of both Anotida Maziriri and Edmore Mafuwe have launched separate crowdfunding campaigns on GoFundMe. Tinashe Mazibiye, who is coordinating the fundraising efforts for Edmore Mafuwe, shared the aim of the campaign: to facilitate a dignified burial for Mafuwe in his homeland, Zimbabwe. Anotida was a bright light in our lives—kind, loving, and deeply cherished. This sudden loss has left our family devastated. We’re raising funds to help cover funeral costs and ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Any support is deeply appreciated."
As of late Sunday night, the campaign for Anotida Maziriri had successfully raised CAD $8,434, moving closer to its CAD $15,000 goal.
