Gospel music legend and pastor, Charles Charamba, recently expressed disapproval towards dancehall artist Jah Signal's rendition of his song 'Kana Vanhu Vangu,' commonly known as 'Stonyeni.'
The dispute arose due to a catchy punchline in Jah Signal's version that has gained popularity across various social circles.
Jah Signal revealed that he had approached Pastor Charamba for consent before recording the song, but received no response. Despite being a fan of Charamba's music, Jah Signal's rendition did not sit well with the pastor.
According to Jah Signal's manager, Hillary Mutake, they did not breach any copyright laws by incorporating a snippet of Charamba's music. However, upon learning about the song, Pastor Charamba expressed discomfort with his music being associated with secular artists.
