Following Nelson Chamisa's unexpected resignation as the president of the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC), the Vice President Tendai Biti has spoken out, shedding light on his stance and offering words of guidance to the party's supporters.
In an interview with NRTV, Biti clarified that he, like many, found out about Chamisa's departure through the media and affirmed his unwavering commitment to his position within the CCC.
Responding to questions about his self-identification as the CCC Vice President despite the absence of official positions within the party, Biti cited his election to the position during an MDC Alliance congress in 2019, aligning himself with Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.
Notably, Biti emphasized his lack of direct communication with Chamisa following the announcement, highlighting the absence of formal correspondence on the matter. Reminding the party's supporters of the late Morgan Tsvangirai's steadfast approach, Biti urged unity and perseverance, advocating for the continuation of the struggle for democratic change in Zimbabwe.
