Job Sikhala Speaks For the First Time After Being Released, Sheds Light on Future Plans and Harrowing Prison Experience

After being granted a wholly suspended two-year sentence for inciting public violence, veteran politician Job Sikhala has spoken out for the first time following his release from Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison.

Having spent 595 days behind bars, Sikhala was Nicodemously released on Tuesday, a day earlier than expected. In an exclusive interview with The NewsHawks, Sikhala shared his thoughts on his newfound freedom, expressing a lack of emotions and attributing his persecution to his unwavering love for Zimbabwe. "Absolutely this was an act of persecution.

What you have to understand is that, if somebody is convinced to say that I am suffering for a just cause, I am not feeling anything," Sikhala stated, emphasizing his determination to pay any price for the love of his country.

When questioned about his ability to endure the harsh conditions of Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, Sikhala highlighted the importance of mental fortitude. "When you get into a very difficult situation, a proper revolutionary must be able to adapt to any situation. I had to make sure that I gather mental strength for me to be able to sustain myself in this situation," he explained.

"I’m going to have the State of the Nation and International Address on where I stand in all the chaos that has been happening in my absence," he stated. "I owe an obligation to the people of Zimbabwe and also the world at large for them to know what I’m thinking vis-a-vis issues that have been happening in my country."

Sikhala's release and forthcoming address have sparked anticipation among his supporters and political observers, as they await his perspective on recent events.

His unwavering commitment to the people of Zimbabwe and his determination to speak out reflect a significant turning point in his political journey.
