The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has confirmed that schools in Harare will commence their classes on Wednesday, September 6th.
However, it should be noted that all other schools are scheduled to open as originally planned on Monday, September 4th.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the Ministry said,
@MoPSEZim would like to notify all stakeholders that the third term opening date for Harare schools has been moved to Wednesday the 6th of September. All other schools open as scheduled on Monday the 4th of September.
4 September Is Not A Public Holiday
The Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Ndavaningi Mangwana, has clarified that Monday, 04 September, is not a public holiday.This announcement comes in response to speculation in certain quarters that the day might be a public holiday.

Those not coming for the Inauguration please go to work.According to Monica Mutsvangwa, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, the official inauguration and swearing-in of President-elect Emmerson Mnangagwa will be held at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
She said:
The main celebrations will be held at the National Sports Stadium in Harare followed by a luncheon at State House for invited dignitaries.Members of the public who wish to attend are advised that gates open at 6 AM and buses are available to transport those in need.
A number of artists are lined up to perform at the inauguration ceremonies which will be headlined by Jah Prayzah, Chief Hwenje, Sandra Ndebele, and others.
A football match between the Zimbabwe Warriors and the Namibian National Team known as the Brave Warriors will follow the inauguration ceremony.
