Karen Streak, the mother of the former Zimbabwean international cricket all-rounder, has emphatically debunked the false news circulating about her son’s demise.

Despite widespread claims that the former cricket star passed away yesterday, Karen Streak has confirmed that these reports are entirely unfounded. In an interview with The Chronicle, Karen said,

“Heath is not well, but he is fine. He is here at the farm, walking about and cracking jokes.

“As a family, we are disturbed by the news and the phone has not stopped ringing, considering who Heath is. I am picking up the phones so that I put the record straight,” said Karen.

Heath has been battling illness for a while now, having been diagnosed with stage four cancer. He has been undergoing treatment both at home and in South Africa.

The publication also reports that this morning, the family spokesperson, Joseph Rego, further affirmed that Heath is alive and currently present at the farm.


“He is fine, it’s not true that he is no more. I would have been among the first ones to know and release the information,” said Rego a long-time friend and advisor of Streak.

Former Teammate Henry Olonga Confirms Heath Streak Is Alive

Shortly after Streak’s former teammate Henry Olonga announced the death of his ex-captain, the former pace bowler-turned-singer shared a subsequent message contradicting the news.

Olonga posted a screenshot of his WhatsApp conversation with someone who appears to be Streak, where Streak himself stated that he is ‘very much alive’ and requested Olonga to remove his previous update.

“I can confirm that rumours of the demise of Heath Streak have been greatly exaggerated. I just heard from him. The third umpire has called him back. He is very much alive folks,” Olonga wrote on X.
