South African amputee dancer, Musa Motha wowed the judges on Britain’s Got Talent with his emotional contemporary dance, securing him a place in the finals.
Musa, who had his leg amputated at the age of 10 due to cancer received the first Golden Buzzer for his group, and is now a viral sensation.
The 27-year old professional dancer said he was overwhelmed by the support and love he received in the talent competition.

Musa was living with his family in Sebokeng, a township in the south of Johannesburg when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.

“I didn’t even know what cancer was or how life-threatening it was. I’d been sick for such a long time, and all I knew was that I needed to lose this leg.
I was relieved, it was a solution for me, not traumatic or sad.”
The talented dancer says being amputated was harder to accept for his family, because despite losing his leg, Musa has defied all odds.
Not only is he an award-winning dancer, he also plays football for Arsenal Amputee Club.
Musa’s love for music and dance has opened up many opportunities for him, and he left Johannesburg in 2021, when he was contacted by a London dance company.
After the audition Musa Motha landed the musical Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby.
The rest as they say is history, and South Africans are rooting for Musa to win the finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
