Ndivhudzannyi “Makhadzi” Ralivhona has announced her departure from Open Mic Productions to focus on her company and other business ventures.
The Limpopo-born singer took to her timeline to release an official statement, expressing her gratitude to the record label for taking her this far in her career and saying she has decided not to renew her contract.
“The relationship between myself and Open Mic Productions was like a match made in heaven as it elevated both of us to become top household names in the South African music industry.
Our relationship produced four studio albums and all the albums did very well.
“I would like to thank Open Mic Productions for the good work and contribution they made in my music career and I have learnt a lot from them.”

According to the paper, Kicks Sportswear, which helped the singer launch her first sneakers in December 2021, dragged Makhadzi and Open Mic Productions to the Pretoria high court after they failed to promote the shoe brand as stipulated in their partnership agreement.
Her new management company said it was aware of the ongoing case and planned to assist her through her company, Makhadzi Entertainment.
“We found the deal that was in place before we could on-board and because it's a lawsuit, we cannot ignore it. What we are going to do is engage with the Kicks company so we can find a solution, and if that does not work and they want to continue with the lawsuit, it will be a different matter, but for now, our approach is sit down with them and see how we can resolve it before we can go anywhere,” Makhadzi Entertainment's Lucky Tshilimandila told TshisaLIVE.
The management team said it saw a great future for Makhadzi through her company as she was set to own her music, host events and sign other talent to the business.
