In a surprising development, popular controversial comedienne Mai TT is set to appear in court today facing fraud charges.

It has also come to the attention of this publication that in a desperate bid to outsmart a loan shark, Mai TT hired a vehicle from a car dealership and used it as collateral to secure funds from the yet-to-be-identified loan shark.

As a result of her attempt to outmaneuver the loan shark, Mai TT, born Felistas Murata, will be facing two separate charges of fraud when she appears before a Harare Magistrate today.

While it is unclear at the time of writing how much Mai TT managed to secure from the loan shark, the outspoken comedienne is drowning in debt. The people she owes have created a WhatsApp group and screenshots seen by this publication confirm that the comedienne owes in excess of US$50 000.

The outspoken comedienne found herself in this predicament after she borrowed money to finance her extravagant wedding.

Mai TT borrowed money to finance her nuptials with her now ex-husband Tinashe Maphosa in the hope that he would reimburse her as agreed. Maphosa failed to honour his word resulting in a public spat between him and Mai TT which ended in the couple divorcing four months after their trendsetting wedding ceremony.

At one time, Mai TT took to her Facebook page and pleaded with her creditors to be patient with her. She wrote:

I know that I owe some people money, I have not paid everyone. Please bear with me, handisi kuwana mari zhinji semafungiro amuri kuita. Some of you think that I am a millionaire, that is not the case. Yandiri kushandira ndiri kungobhadhara, mukandiona ndakachena handisi kuzvispoila, ndrikutospoilwao

She added that she is saving every cent she gets in order to pay back what she owes.
