The London-based Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa has been named as the United Kingdom's first black billionaire, worth £1 087 million – about N$18,4 billion at the current exchange rate.
Masiyiwa is the first black billionaire included on the Sunday Times Rich List – a ranking of the wealthiest people or families resident in the United Kingdom.
Masiyiwa, who is 60, has landed on the 159th spot on the list, reportedly just behind Viscount Rothermere's family and Lord Rothschild's family.
According to a Business Insider report, Masiyiwa sits on several international boards, including those of Unilever, Netflix, the National Geographic Society, Asia Society and the global advisory boards of Bank of America, the Council on Foreign Relations (in the United States), Stanford University and the Prince of Wales Trust for Africa.
