Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina, has also tested positive for the coronavirus after choosing not to quarantine away from her husband.
On Saturday (March 21st), Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina (30) told Oprah Winfrey that she now has coronavirus. This follows less than a week after the 47-year-old Award-winning actor (Idris) took to Twitter with his wife and revealed in a video that he had tested positive for coronavirus (COVID 19) after being in contact with a person that also tested positive.
In a lengthy interview through FaceTime for an episode of “Oprah Talks: COVID-19” on Apple TV; the couple admitted to Oprah Winfrey they both had now contracted the virus and explained their decision to stay together.

She “wanted to be with him.”
“Actually, I found out this morning, Oprah, that I tested positive. I’m not surprised. As soon as I heard that Idris was potentially exposed I was on my way anyway and I wanted to be with him. I think that’s an instinct as a wife you just want to go and take care. We didn’t change the way we interacted.”
She added,
“I could have made a decision to put myself in a separate room or maybe stay away. I’m sure people are making those decisions, they’re tough decisions to make. But I made the decision to want to be with him and still touch him.”
The pair acknowledged that they could still fall ill at any point and are being quarantined in New Mexico.
