On the aspect of Infrastructure, Sports Minister Dr. Ismael Bidoung Mpkatt says “Out of the 32 stadia expected from Cameroon, the 11 stadia used during the 2016 AFCON are ready, available and operational. The other 21 are under construction and rehabilitation. Among them, 14 are to be rehabilitated and 7 to be constructed. Works on the two most prestigious of them namely Olembe and Japoma have commenced” he adds.

The FECAFOOT President Tombi A Roko Sidiki says he is not happy with the statements made by the CAF Boss Ahmad Ahmad regarding the readiness of Cameroon to host the tournament. According to him, the statement uttered by Ahmad Ahmad on Burkina Faso TV was an intoxication campaign because the CAF inspection team is still to come to Cameroon.

Notwithstanding Tombi A Roko Sidiki added that the FECAFOOT will be ready to welcome the CAF inspection team in Country with a Constructive spirit. He ended with the reaffirmation that Cameroon is ready to host AFCON 2019.

The CAF inspection team is expected in Cameroon from the 20th to the 28th of August. It will be only after the inspection team must have left that Cameroonians will be fixed on whether or not the hosting rights of AFCON 2019 will be withdrawn from them.
