24 hours after their passage to the gendarmerie brigade of Banga-Bakundu, the flames went to leave their marks at the headquarters of the GCE Board. It was the office of the communication service that was devastated by fire on the morning of Sunday May 21, 2017 in Buea.

The security guards in front of the GCE Board (General Certificate of Education Board) on Sunday, May 21, 2017 still can not explain this other incident caused by the fire. It is with panic that they gave an alert after finding that smoke escaped from one of the offices of the building.

The office in question is that of the communication service; Created recently, notably during the last board of directors of the GCE board, institution in charge of examinations and competitions of the English-speaking educational sub-system. Unfortunately, the flames that have been circumscribed and controlled have had time to consume the contents of the office. Sources say several important documents have ended up in ashes. The press was not admitted to the scene of this fire, the origin of which remains unknown.

It is also the case of the fire of the gendarmerie brigade of Banga-bakundu village located not far from the locality of Kumba in the South West region. The building was completely cleared by the flames on Saturday, May 20, 2017. But so far, no one is able to say where the fire started. Informed of the situation, D.O Simon Sombe of Mbongue, undertook to descend on the scene aboard his vehicle. He never arrived at his destination, mowed by a traffic accident. He was taken urgently to the regional hospital in Limbe. A fact that is considered very curious in this part of the country, as well as these repeated fires in both the Northwest and the Southwest.

On the same Saturday, 20 May, in the early hours of the morning, the departmental delegation of the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family for the Mezam in the Northwest was visited by the flames. The building is completely gone. But neither the causes nor the circumstances have yet been determined, even if some suspect a criminal hand. Only the results of the open investigation will be fixed.

Only 5 days earlier, in Bamenda, still in the North-West region, five classrooms of the Atuakom government primary school were ravaged by flames. Built in 2004, this magnificent government primary school of Atuakom is the fruit of Cameroon-Japanese cooperation. This fire is attributed to individuals who allegedly set fire to the building around 3 am on May 15, before fleeing.
