Government to Appease The Anglophone People With A University Hospital Center In Bamenda

'Better late than never' is the appropriate saying to use in applauding government's continues initiative to appease the people of the anglophone regions in Cameroon, who have been rioting since October 2016, because of gross marginalization on them by the present government, that has been in place for the past 34 years under the Presidentship of one man.

The latest of these initiatives is the 'laying of the foundation stone' for the construction of a University Hospital Center, by Health Minister Andre Mama Fouda, last Wednesday May 3rd 2017 in the North West Regional town of Bamenda.

According to Minister Andre Mama Fouda, this project is conceived with the aim of 'reducing morbidity, mortality, and to reduce the number of medical evacuations to Yaounde'.

This new Hospital Center will be constructed at the Ntambang neighborhood, and the project is evaluated at 15 Billions F CFA, which will cover its construction, and equipping with modern medical equipment including 121 hospital beds.

According to Cameroon Tribune on kiosk this Thursday May 4 2017, reporting the Minister's silent visit to Bamenda, a technical presentation of the site before the visit showed that this University Hospital Center will house 'Obstetrical, Cardiological, Neurological, Dental, SCAN CD, Labour Rooms, Intensive Care, Medical and Surgical Services'.

The project has eighteen (18) months to come to reality, from the construction to the implementation phase, even though Minister Mama Fouda 'acknowledged the fact that it will be difficult for the contractor' 'Alliances Construction Cameroon', to deliver the project on the required deadline.

This project is a continuous effort by the Head of State Paul Biya, to regain the trust and stability of the people of this Region in particular, who wants Biya completely out of their entire system, so that they can have a fresh new start, and offer themselves that which Mr. Biya failed to give them for 34 years.

The people in Bamenda say they will not comment on this project, until its accomplishment, for fear it will be one of the fallacious promises to draw them back to a spot where they have already run pass in anger.
