“Your Excellency, as your son and as one of those who stood up to be counted at the birth of the SDF, I owe you the truth about how I feel. My truth is that, during this very trying moment, you my leader did not stand by me or even speak up for me when I needed it most!
I may be wrong my chairman, but I think that your complete silence on such a capital issue I raise, and which touched every West Cameroonian at home and abroad at heart, encouraged our oppressors to hunt me down with impunity! Your silence made me realise that I was on my own, and being a man who can stand on his own feet, I went ahead to defend our people and myself the best way I could. And thanks be to God, the people stood by me, defended me, protected me and kept me safe”. [SIC]
Hon. Joseph WIRBA MBIYDZENYUY, Member of Parliament for Jakiri has shown exasperation and frustration at John Fru Ndi’s ‘complete silence’ on the paramount issues he (WIRBA) raised at the November 2016 parliamentary session at the Cameroon National Assembly.
In a letter dated March 7, 2017 addressed to the SDF chieftain (a copy Cameroon Journal procured), Hon. WIRBA initially hurled encomiums at his boss and political godfather; calling him, ‘a selfless leader who can sacrifice his health to be there for the people’. Referring to a successful operation conducted upon Ni John Fru Ndi at the Shisong Catholic Hospital, Kumbo on Friday September 16, 2016, WIRBA commended the SDF strongman in the opening line of his letter. He wrote inter alia, “I hope you are in good health knowing the upheavals in the country even denied you the opportunity to rest after your operation…when the few fail to see your great efforts, many will see and that many includes God who sees and knows even what is hidden in every human heart”.

You Neglected Me – Hon. Wirba Blasts Fru Ndi |
The Cameroon social media is currently awashed with widespread condemnation by opinion leaders. Rev. Dr. Success NKONGHO, Goodwill Ambassador to SPMUDA International Organisation for Peace and Development, Secretary General of the Federation of Central African Ministers & Ministries – on his official facebook page indicted Fru Ndi for ‘toiling with the Southern Cameroonian hero’.
It is important to note that the outspoken WIRBA fearlessly seized the rostrum of the Cameroon National Assembly at its November 2017 session, lashed out and indicted the Biya regime for crimes against the people of West Cameroon and made a compelling case for the restoration of independence of the erstwhile British Southern Cameroons. This has earned him a household name and the words, ‘we must resist’, is one of the most recited lines picked from his November 2017 speech. A government ploy to arrest WIRBA is currently ongoing despite that the country’s super eminent law, the constitution guarantees immunity for sitting Members of Parliament. WIRBA is currently at an unknown destination. cameroonjournal.com
