A MAN was caught with a consignment of grenades in Bulawayo, which he allegedly intended to use to foment anarchy during a civil servants’ stay away today.
National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrest of Henry Nyandoro in connection with the incident and urged Zimbabweans to shun violence.
Police raided a house in Famona suburb, following a tip off and arrested the suspect last night.

In the morning, hundreds of people returned home after failing to get transport.
Violence erupted in Bulawayo’s Makokoba suburb after protestors burnt tyres and placed stones on the road to prevent free movement of vehicles and people.
The police’s anti-riot crew swiftly descended on the city’s oldest suburb with water cannon vehicles and teargas to disperse the protesters.
