THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Chicken Inn and FC Platinum which was scheduled for Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon (Wednesday) has been cancelled.
Chicken Inn spokesperson Tavengwa Hara disclosed that the Zimbabwe Republic Police informed the PSL to postpone the fixture since they did not have enough personnel to deploy to the match venue.
“We have been told that the match has been cancelled on the advice of the police, they said do not have enough officers to deploy to the venue,’’ Hara.
According to Hara, both teams never made it to the stadium because they were informed not to make the journey to the facility. Hara said gate charges for the match had been at $3.

The match was an opportunity for Chicken Inn to record their sixth win of the season while for FC Platinum it was a chance to overtake Highlanders and go on top of the log. FC Platinum are on 26 points, the same number as Highlanders with the former champions still on top because of a better goal difference.
The match was in fact rescheduled from last month when Chicken Inn their players away with the national team at the Cosafa Cup in Namibia and it means that the PSL has to rearrange it again on another date.
