John Oliver Just Shredded Donald Trump for 20 Straight Minutes and Then Dropped the Mic

On Sunday night, John Oliver did something he never thought he’d have to do: He examined Donald Trump as a serious presidential candidate. 

“At this point, Donald Trump is America’s back mole,” he said. “It may have seemed harmless a year ago, but now that it’s gotten frighteningly bigger, it is no longer wise to ignore it.” So, Oliver dedicated more than 20 minutes to systematically destroying the infamous Trump brand.

Dismantling each aspect of Trump’s appeal piece by piece, he debunked Trump’s reputation as someone who “tells it like it is” (in fact, he’s a habitual liar), as a strong leader (really, he can’t seem to make up his mind), and as a business man (a reputation built more on branding than actual business savvy).

“Stop thinking about the mascot, and start thinking about the man,” Oliver advised. And if you find the Trump name too irresistible to ignore, perhaps it’ll be easier once you hear his family’s original name—Drumpf.
