The State's case alleges that on July 16, 2025, at approximately 11 AM, detectives from the CID Drugs Harare unit observed a black Honda Fit (registration AGS 6699) caught in traffic along Kambuzuma Road. The vehicle had reportedly been flagged in police records as suspected of being involved in drug distribution activities around Harare.

Ras Pompy Granted Bail Following Drug Possession

Upon being signaled by police officers to pull over, Ras Pompy allegedly failed to comply and instead sped off in the direction of Rugare suburb. A high-speed pursuit ensued, which ultimately concluded when the artist's vehicle crashed into a metal pole.

Following his apprehension, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle. The search reportedly yielded a significant quantity of over-the-counter cough syrups, commonly known to be abused as narcotics. Authorities discovered approximately 100 bottles of cough syrup, with an estimated combined street value of nearly US$400. The haul included 24 bottles of Broncleer, 20 bottles of Benylin, and 55 bottles of Astra Pain cough syrup, all in 100ml quantities.

Both the alleged drugs and the vehicle were seized as evidence, and Ras Pompy was subsequently taken to CID Drugs Harare for processing before being remanded in custody.
