Harare, Zimbabwe – Popular broadcaster and podcaster DJ Ollah 7 has shared a deeply emotional and poignant update on the aftermath of the tragic Seke Road accident that claimed seventeen lives on July 22, 2025.
The horrific collision between a commuter omnibus (kombi) and a haulage truck, which has since been declared a national disaster, continues to leave a profound impact on the affected families and the nation.
In a series of posts shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, DJ Ollah 7 revealed the current conditions of the survivors he personally visited in hospital and recounted the heartbreaking scenes witnessed while offering condolences to bereaved families.
However, the road to recovery remains challenging for some. Madhuviko is reportedly still experiencing pain despite medical scans showing no obvious serious injuries, highlighting the unseen trauma of such an event. The other two survivors – one male identified as Moses and one female named Ruvimbo – remain hospitalized. One of them is currently battling for their life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while the assistant truck driver is in a general ward, receiving treatment for their injuries.
DJ Ollah 7 conveyed the details: "Yesterday, I visited the survivors to see how they’re feeling after the accident and I can confirm to you that 2 survivors have been discharged from the hospital after doctors assessed them. The truck driver, Desire Madhuviko and Nyasha Tanganganyika are now at home, but the wife of the truck driver told me that Desire is not well despite the X-Rays showing no signs of serious injuries. The other 2 survivors, one male (Moses) and female (Ruvimbo) are still in hospital, one in ICU unit and the assistant truck driver is in the ward where they are being treated."
"I also went to 3 different homes last night to pay my last respects (kubata maoko), and I can tell you that it was not easy for me to watch families breaking down looking at their loved ones’ bodies taken out of the hearse, it was so heartbreaking 💔," he shared.
He highlighted a particularly tragic case: "Nyasha lost both her husband and her 3-year-old daughter in the same accident. She was crying all the way, and I couldn’t help it until I started crying as well. They will be buried today at Zororo cemetery at 2 pm.” This account underscored the immense personal suffering inflicted by the crash.
