ZBC Demands Former CEO Adelaide Chikunguru to Act or Stay Silent!

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to former CEO Adelaide Chikunguru, demanding a formal report on her claims of unfair dismissal.

This ultimatum follows Chikunguru's resignation after being suspended by the ZBC board for alleged financial mismanagement and governance issues.

Chikunguru had taken to social media to make accusations against the ZBC board, prompting the board to threaten legal action against her. They urged her to pursue any claims through proper legal channels and challenged her to follow through on her threats within 48 hours.

Failure to do so would lead the ZBC board to seek a decree of perpetual silence from the High Court, requiring Chikunguru to either take legal action or remain silent on the matter indefinitely. The board justified this move to protect the corporation's interests and stakeholders from ongoing harm.

Despite Chikunguru's resignation, the investigation into her alleged misconduct continues. The ZBC board emphasized that she would be held accountable under the law for any losses suffered by the corporation due to her actions, reaffirming their commitment to completing the inquiry.

The ultimatum sets a deadline for Chikunguru to address the allegations and take appropriate legal steps, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and the board's determination to ensure accountability and protect the ZBC's interests.
