The legal battle between Innscor Africa and Rutendo Matinyarare has escalated, with Innscor now pushing for Matinyarare to be imprisoned due to his damaging accusations against the food company.
Matinyarare had claimed that Innscor Africa, after taking over the meat industry, had altered the unique taste of Zimbabwean meat by using GMO feeds and steroids. He also alleged that the company was selling grain tainted with cancer-causing pesticides and growth hormones, warning that allowing Innscor Africa to dominate the food supply chain could harm Zimbabwe's culinary identity.
Following Matinyarare's defamatory statements, Innscor Africa took legal action and secured a court order requiring him to remove the harmful content from his social media accounts and refrain from making further defamatory remarks about the company within 30 days.
