Zimdancehall sensation, Master H, has courageously revealed his battle with drug addiction and his triumphant journey to recovery.
Born Hillary Marufu in Chitungwiza, Master H's path to success was marred by the allure of illicit substances that threatened to derail his budding career.
With limited rehabilitation resources in Zimbabwe, many youths like Master H find themselves unable to overcome their addictions, resulting in lost potential and talent. However, Master H's story takes a turn for the better, as he now stands atop the charts with chart-topping hits such as "Dhanzi (Nawanadem)" featuring Voltz.
In a candid interview, Master H recounted his arduous journey to redemption, acknowledging the pivotal role of rehabilitation in reclaiming his life. "Now I can make a song, I can hear it on the radio. I can make a song and video and see a lot of people. Zimdancehall Artist Master H Opens Up About His Drug Addiction! |
The turning point for Master H came with his decision to turn to faith, seeking solace in religion and distancing himself from the grip of drugs. "I reached a point where I said I had enough of drugs. I went to church. The team I was now with, Dr Bond Entertainment, encouraged me to follow God. Now I’m in an apostolic sect and I shaved my head. Now I found God. That step led to a huge change in my life," he revealed.
While celebrating his personal victory over addiction, Master H remained concerned about fellow musicians grappling with similar challenges in the industry. He cautioned against the prevalence of drug use in the music scene and advocated for awareness of its detrimental effects.
Master H's music reflects his desire to uplift others, drawing from his experiences growing up in the ghetto. "I want people to be happy through my music. I grew up in the ghetto and that’s a place where you go to ask for salt next door if you don’t have any in your own home. You can never die of hunger in the ghetto even if you don’t have anything. Growing up there showed me and I want that love to spread all over the whole," he expressed.
Master H's courageous journey serves as both a cautionary tale and a beacon of hope, shedding light on the arduous path to recovery and the transformative power of faith, determination, and self-discovery.
