Despite his prolonged confinement, individuals whom Job Sikhala had hoped would stand by him failed to extend help by visiting him at Chikurubi Prison or offering support during his court appearances.

Sikhala’s letter poignantly expressed, "Those whom I used to regard as friends have never visited or brought me even a banana at court or here at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison for my almost two years in detention." 

He highlighted the disheartening reality of lacking expected aid, disclosing that ordinary citizens stepped in to provide essential assistance—clothing and sustenance—for him and his family during this protracted period.

Sikhala underscored his deep gratitude to the general populace in Zimbabwe and across the diaspora, stressing how they rallied behind him when he was left to fend for himself. He acknowledged the unwavering support he received from ordinary citizens, who have acted as his foster parents, ensuring that he is clothed and fed daily during his confinement at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison.

Internal Conflicts and Turmoil:

The letter also shed light on internal disputes within the CCC, notably over a seemingly modest $20 birthday present. Sikhala revealed that this intended gift, meant as a gesture from CCC MPs, never reached him, revealing underlying fractures within the party.

Furthermore, Sikhala's communication hinted at his reservations towards certain political figures, implying their collaboration with what he termed "tormentors," thereby exposing internal intricacies within the CCC.

Sikhala's candid expression of disappointment and the challenges he has faced while in detention serve as a stark reminder of the complexities and human dynamics that often characterize the realm of politics and support networks during challenging times.
