Matinyarare ignited the controversy last November with a barrage of disparaging claims directed at Innscor Africa, asserting on various social media platforms that the company had compromised the taste and quality of Zimbabwean food through the utilization of genetically modified organism (GMO) feeds and steroids in their meat production. 

Additionally, he alleged that Innscor Africa distributed grain infused with cancer-causing pesticides and growth hormones, ultimately contending that the company's industrialized practices had deleterious effects on Zimbabwe's culinary heritage.

In response to Matinyarare's defamatory assertions, Innscor Africa pursued legal recourse, initiating a lawsuit against him in a South African court. 

The ensuing judicial deliberations culminated in a decisive ruling by the High Court on 9 January, which mandated Matinyarare to expunge the disparaging videos and posts from social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, within a 30-day timeframe. 

The court also proscribed Matinyarare from disseminating any further defamatory statements against Innscor Africa.

The court's injunction served as a resounding vindication for Innscor Africa, substantiating the steadfast stance taken by the company in discrediting the allegedly defamatory claims propagated by Matinyarare. The legal triumph stands as a potent assertion of the company's resolve to safeguard its reputation and integrity against unfounded aspersions, reinforcing the imperative of upholding truth and accountability within public discourse.
