However, this time it's not as an inmate but as a visitor, bringing hope and inspiration to those she left behind. After a tumultuous legal journey that led to her initial imprisonment, Mai TT is now on a mission to give back and share the lessons she learned during her time behind bars.

Mai TT's legal troubles began when she was sentenced to nine months in June for using a hired car as collateral to cover up a US$10,000 loan advanced to her by a friend, Rachel Mhuka. This sentence was then extended by an additional three months after she was found guilty of theft of trust property. Furthermore, her failure to complete the required community service led to disqualification as a candidate for such a program. 

However, after serving three months at Chikurubi Female Prison and successfully appealing against her conviction and sentence on theft of trust property, Mai TT finally secured her release.

During her time in prison, Mai TT underwent a transformation that has deeply impacted her outlook on life. She expressed her gratitude to the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) for their role in her rehabilitation. Recognizing the value of the skills she gained and the insights she obtained during her incarceration, Mai TT shared her desire to give back to the prison community. She articulated her intention to return to prison, not as an inmate, but as a beacon of hope for the inmates, offering encouragement and support.

In a recent interview with a local publication, Mai TT voiced her indebtedness to ZPCS. She acknowledged the challenges of prison life, emphasizing that while the experience wasn't easy, the rehabilitation process had a profound impact on her personal growth and her business endeavors. She shared her determination to visit the inmates and impart hope, drawing from her own journey of transformation.

"I owe ZPCS a lot for helping me during my incarceration," Mai TT remarked. "Prison life is not good, and I felt the pain. I do not want to commit a crime again, but I will return to prison to visit inmates and give them hope. I benefited from the rehabilitation process I underwent as it opened my eyes. It taught me that I can be much better than I thought I could be before I went to jail."

Mai TT also highlighted the positive surprises that emerged after her release. TopSnash Car Rentals, which she previously represented as a brand ambassador, presented her with a Toyota Axio vehicle. She expressed her joy at receiving this gift, marking it as a significant milestone in her journey post-incarceration.

"They complained that I had abandoned them as their brand ambassador, only to surprise me by presenting me with a vehicle," Mai TT shared. "This is my first car after leaving prison, and I am so happy."
