Gift, fondly known as "Case" by his adoring fans, has a story that is as compelling as his music. From his humble beginnings in Mkoba, Gweru, Gift Amuli has captivated audiences with his soulful lyrics and captivating melodies. The Early Years

Born in circumstances shadowed by adversity, Gift's mother, Jane Dube, faced significant hardships, having been abused and impregnated by her white employer. Returning to her village, she brought Gift into the world, never revealing the identity of his father. 

Raised by his grandparents in Mkoba, Gweru, Gift's formative years were shaped by the resilience and love of his family.

Musical Odyssey

Gift's musical odyssey began in the 80s when he joined the Zig Zag Band and later became a part of Zvishavane Sounds, led by Joseph Mutero. The 90s brought him and the band to the forefront with the creation of the hit song "Mutongi Gava." Despite facing various career transitions, including a stint as a fully employed musician by Shabanie Mine and a training period as an electrician, Gift's passion for music remained unwavering.

The Triumphs and Trials

In 2002, Gift released the album "Wedangwe," showcasing his versatility beyond just being a singer. The success of this album set the stage for his subsequent release, "Munozvigona Sei," which solidified his position in the vibrant Sungura music scene. 

Behind the scenes, however, Gift faced personal difficulties that led him to venture into traditional healing in Zvishavane. Serving a community of illegal gold panners and dealers, Gift found himself in a world that was both unfamiliar and challenging. Eventually, seeking solace, he turned to churches as a means of support during trying times.

A Fateful Encounter

During a recording session, Gift's life took a dramatic turn. Engrossed in his work, he reached for a bottle of Kombucha, unknowingly taking a sip and nearly sealing his fate. Unbeknownst to him, the Kombucha had been laced with a toxic substance, and Gift's health began to rapidly deteriorate. In a stroke of luck, his quick thinking and the timely intervention of those around him saved his life.
