Eric Moyo met an untimely demise at a hospital in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, where he reportedly collapsed while performing with Joyous Celebration, as reported by The Chronicle.

Eric Moyo's Musical Journey: Eric Moyo entered the spotlight as a contestant on Zimbabwe's A-Academy talent show in 2006, capturing hearts and claiming a spot among the top 3 finalists. He continued to showcase his talent by participating in the inaugural Idols East Africa competition, emerging as the victor against fierce competition, including Nichollete Kiiga of Kenya. 

This victory led to Eric's attainment of a USD 80,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Sony BMG, signifying a pivotal moment in his music career.

Joining Joyous Celebration: Eric Moyo's path intersected with the co-founder of Joyous Celebration, Lindelani Mkhize, who sought a Zimbabwean addition to the choir. Despite initial setbacks, Mkhize and Moyo eventually reconnected in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, facilitating Eric's induction into Joyous Celebration in 2014. 

His vibrant performances and sublime vocals quickly became integral to the group's enduring success.
