Nelson Chamisa has taken a decisive legal stand against the unauthorized use of his image, directing a formal request to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to halt the registration of candidates associated with Sengezo Tshabangu or any individual employing his likeness as a logo without proper authorization.
Communicated through his legal representatives in a letter dispatched to ZEC, Chamisa’s stance comes in response to recent developments surrounding the Nomination Court, which convened on Monday to address legislative vacancies resulting from the recall of six additional Citizens Coalition for Change legislators from Parliament by self-proclaimed Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu.
By-elections for these seats are slated for February 3rd next year, encompassing constituencies such as Pelandaba, Goromonzi South, Seke, Chegutu West, Zvimba East, and Mkoba North.
Chamisa's legal team conveyed a clear message, emphasizing that only individuals with nomination papers endorsed by those specified in a letter dated June 15, 2023, are duly authorized to utilize his image as a logo.
