Popular comedian and socialite Mai TT has made a bold decision to distance herself from the allure of social media.
Following her release from Chikurubi prison, where she endured a 63-day stay, Mai TT expressed her newfound perspective on life, shared in an exclusive chat with a local publication.
The experience of being incarcerated led Mai TT to deep introspection and a reevaluation of her relationship with technology. "I will stay away from social media and reduce my dependence on my mobile phone," she remarked.
In her reflective state, she realized the distractions that technology had brought into her life and emphasized her plans to prioritize fasting and prayer over digital indulgence.
Mai TT linked her imprisonment to a divine intervention, citing her advocacy for women's rights as a pivotal reason for her confinement. "It affected me in the first days, but with the help of prison counselors, I realized that I provoked God the time I visited Chikurubi Female Prison donating food and sanitary wear," she recalled. She expressed gratitude for the lessons learned during her time in prison and attributed her experience to a higher purpose, calling it a "sour process for a noble and divine cause."
This shift in perspective comes after Mai TT's sentence was quashed, overturning an effective nine-month imprisonment she had been serving since June.
