In a shocking turn of events, five Form 2 students from Chrome High School in Shurugwi have been arrested and appeared before Shurugwi Magistrate Sithabile Zungula after being accused of stealing 16 laptops.
These laptops were generously donated by none other than the First Lady herself, Auxillia Mnangagwa, to Selukwe Primary School.
The total value of the goods and laptops stolen is estimated to be a staggering US$8,000. However, authorities were able to recover approximately US$5,000 worth of the stolen property.
Armed with unknown objects, they managed to gain entry into the tuck shop, where they brazenly snatched various items.
These included 17 packets of Joe biscuits, 1 pack of Popticorn snacks, 3 packs of Hello snacks, 1 crate of soft drinks, 96 toffee bars, 12 bottles of maheu, sweets, and juice.
Employing a cunning strategy, they entered through the ceiling and successfully made off with a total of 16 laptops.
Wasting no time, the guardian immediately contacted the police, leading to the subsequent arrest of all the suspects involved.
The accused students have been remanded out of custody until Monday, awaiting further legal proceedings.
