Former Presidential advisor Shingi Munyeza is ruing his fate as he loses his house and furniture due to debt.
Munyeza has fallen over hard times so much that he is now a tenant at his Borrowdale Brooke house. H-Metro revealed that he is now paying US$1,500 in rent at the home he built. The businessman got a loan from Connect Microfinance Zambia Limited and failed to repay it.
The company approached the court and got an order to attach his house and furniture to recover the money. A letter from the company’s legal representatives read:
“To submit that the above-stated assets at Unit 2, Arkenstone, 970 Borrowdale Brooke, Borrowdale, Harare, belong to the claimant (Connect Microfinance Zambia Limited). The claimant is the lawful owner of the immovable property called as undivided 8.35% being share No. 2 in Stand 97 Borrowdale Brooke Township situated in the District of Salisbury, also known as Unit 2, Arkenstone 970 Borrowdale Brooke.”

Connect Microfinance Zambia Limited also attached the following assets:

Another US$ 100,000 Debt Hanging On Businessman’s Head
Former Seed Co. public relations manager Marjorie Mutemererwa repossessed Shingi Munyeza’s Ford Ranger cab and sold it for US$ 16,500. She is recovering a US$100,000 loan she gave the businessman and his wife.Munyeza and Mutemererwa have entered into a payment agreement, and if the former Presidential advisor fails to honour it, he will be imprisoned.
