Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator for Tshabalala-Pelandaba, Gift Ostallos Siziba has been arrested once more, this time on charges related to the alleged defacement of campaign posters.

These new legal entanglements have arisen in quick succession, making for a challenging week for the opposition figure.

Ostallos Siziba Poster Defacement Arrest

Ostallos Siziba, who is also the CCC’s deputy spokesperson was rearrested today by Law and Order ahead of his court scheduled appearance.

“ALERT: Just received a report that Hon @Cde_Ostallos has been again arrested by Law and Order ahead of his scheduled appearance this morning. A member of his family has raised a concern about his safety. Our legal team is attending to him,” Mount Pleasant CCC MP Fadzayi Mahere announced on her X account.

It is alleged that on August 16, 2023, near Pelandaba shops in Bulawayo, Ostallos Siziba removed campaign posters belonging to Zanu PF rival Soneni Moyo and replaced them with his own campaign posters.

Previous Arrests and Charges

Ostallos Siziba’s recent arrest comes hot on the heels after he was arrested on Wednesday. He was accused of inciting violence, specifically related to disturbances that led to the abandonment of a high-profile football match between Dynamos and Highlanders at Barbourfields stadium.

Following his initial detention, Siziba was released and ordered to appear in court on Friday to face charges related to the alleged incitement of football-related violence.

COURT UPDATE: The Prosecutor has dropped the false charge of inciting violence against our MP, @cde_ostallos, relating to a picture with the caption "we fear fokol."
