Guti passed away on July 5th. Earlier this year, in May, he celebrated his 100th birthday.

President Mnangagwa bestowed upon him the esteemed title of national hero in recognition of his impactful contributions to the church, education, and philanthropy.

Earlier, the remains of the revered Archbishop were transported through Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) before being conveyed to the Bindura Healing Centre, a sacred location atop the hill where the inaugural ZAOGA church was constructed.

Who Was Ezekiel Guti?

Ezekiel Guti was a highly respected figure, acclaimed for his achievements as both an accomplished academic and a revered religious leader.

He founded the widely recognized Forward in Faith International Ministries, which not only gained influence within Zimbabwe but also expanded its reach overseas.

His remarkable contributions extended to academia, where he held esteemed roles as the chancellor and founder of the prestigious Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University.

Born on May 5, 1923, Ezekiel Guti originated from the Ngaone area in the town of Chipinge, located in the Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe.

Archbishop Ezekiel Guti was joined in matrimony with Eunor Guti, who herself played a vital role as a prominent religious leader within the church.

Their combined commitment to faith had a lasting impact that extended well beyond their ministries.

Archbishop Guti took the initiative to establish bible schools in several countries, including but not limited to Zimbabwe, Ghana, Zambia, and Mozambique.

These educational institutions served as training grounds for over 4,000 pastors from across 55 nations, further spreading the wisdom and teachings of the church on a global scale.
