In a startling turn of events, a murder case in Zimbabwe involving Tafadzwa Shamba has taken an unexpected twist, as his family expresses a willingness to compensate for the crime committed, while also expecting compensation from the victim’s family.
Tafadzwa Shamba, along with Tapiwa Makore Snr, was found guilty of the murder of Tapiwa Makore.
The motive behind the gruesome act was allegedly tied to a ritualistic attempt to enhance a cabbage trade business.
In an exclusive interview with Kwayedza, Gaylord Shamba, Tafadzwa’s uncle, stated that their family is prepared to pay for the bloodshed caused by their son Tafadzwa.
He stated that they seek to pay when the deceased turns 18. However, Gaylord also made the shocking claim that they expect to be compensated by the Makore family for the murder committed by their son.

“As a family, we are willing to pay for the blood shed by our child Tafadzwa and traditionally we seek to pay when the deceased turns 18, going forward.
“But even so, if we pay, we also want to be paid by Makore’s family for the murder they made our son commit.
“We can safely say our son Tafadzwa was a slave in the Makore family since he was instructed to commit the murder.
The Changing Behavior and Allegations of Enslavement
According to Gaylord Shamba, Tafadzwa’s behavior underwent a drastic transformation following his association with Tapiwa Makore Snr.He described Tafadzwa as a good man during his formative years, but his personality underwent a noticeable change after being taken in by Tapiwa Snr.
Gaylord alleged that Tafadzwa began consuming alcohol, snorting snuff (bute), and acting as if he were possessed after starting work in the Makore household.
He went on to suggest that the Makore family might have done something to influence Tafadzwa’s mindset and give him the courage to commit the murder.
