In an unexpected turn of events, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has sent shockwaves through the football community by suspending all Castle Lager Premiership fixtures with immediate effect.
Due to ongoing maintenance work at the National Sports Stadium, all PSL matches have been suspended until the 1st of July. In addition, the PSL has decided to pause the season to allow the grass at the stadium to sprout.
Match-day 13 was set to kick off this week, with Herentals and Simba Bhora poised to ignite the pitch at the colossal venue.
However, the PSL has pressed the pause button for the next three weeks, citing the need for vital renovations at the National Sports Stadium, where eight teams currently call home.
In a statement this afternoon, the PSL said the three week-break will also give sufficient time for the completion of other stadiums which are currently under renovation like Nyamhunga and Rufaro.
