Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi publicly reacted to a racist post made by an East London business owner on social media.
Zozibini Tunzi’s tweet drew a response out of the company and confirmed they will be taking necessary action against him as soon as possible.
The diva recently responded to a screenshot of a post from East London businessman Russel Kruger. Kruger’s post featured a picture of a child whose face was painted black and was captioned: “Using my kids to apply for business grants hope we come right.”
Tunzi quietly accepts the racists' post and ensure that Kruger’s racism was exposed. She drew a response out of eatery chain Mugg & Bean, who confirmed that Kruger was a part-shareholder in one of their stores. The chain moved to assure South Africa as a whole that they believe Kruger’s behaviour was unacceptable and action will be taken against him.
If at all there was any doubt about the reach a Miss Universe winner has, it has all been subsided now with Zozibini’s swift action. The Human Rights Commission of South Africa (HRCSA) has been asked to take up the case.
