Charlize Theron together with her outreach program is doing her best in order to safeguard the women and children in South Africa from domestic violence. She is still shedding light on domestic violence amid the global pandemic.
Her outreach program, Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), pledged R19 million to coronavirus relief efforts with R9.5 million going to CARE, which is a non-profit organisation.
Briefly.co.za learnt that in her last Instagram post, Charlize shared her concern over the increase of domestic violence during the lockdown and the fact that we are been told to stay in our homes, the question is, what if our homes are not safe?

The worry is for all those women and children that are now confined to one house with someone that is abusing them, this could be dangerous.
With her post, the actress announced the launch of Together For Her. With domestic violence cases surging in the wake of the pandemic, the campaign will support women around the world.
The 44-year-old went on to say that her team is committing $1 million to COVID relief efforts, of which $500 000 (R93k) will go towards the Together For Her campaign. The money will go to trusted domestic violence shelters and community schemes to help fund services for safe accommodation.
Charlize urged everyone to join in and show women that are experience domestic violence that they are not alone. Let’s show them we are behind them and with them. Charlize asked people to read the #TogetherForHer post.
