Royal Fans Are Noticing Something About Queen Elizabeth's Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Statement.

Fans of the royals are noticing one big thing about Queen Elizabeth‘s statement regarding Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle‘s desire to separate from the royal family and split their time between Canada and the UK.

People are noticing that the Queen did not refer to the Prince and Duchess using their royal titles – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – as she has done in past statements.

She used “Harry and Meghan” and once used “the Sussexes.” She also did not refer to them using their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles.

The statement is as follows:

“Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family,” the Queen said.

The statement continued, “Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives,” she continued. “It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK. These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.”

Many are wondering if that means the Queen will be stripping a couple of their royal titles.

A royal historian, Robert Lacey, actually spoke to this and said to People, “The very next line refers to them as the Sussexes. They won’t have HRH taken away any more than the Duke of Windsor did.” Robert is referring to King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne and retained the title the Duke of Windsor.
