Constantino Chiwenga APPEALS High Court Decision To Grant Marry Mubaiwa Custody Of Children

The Vice President has wasted no time in fighting back and has since filed an appeal at the Supreme Court challenging the ruling made by High Court judge Christopher Dube-Banda earlier on today.

Ruling on an urgent high court application filed by Marry following her release from 3-week incarceration at Chikurubi Prison, Justice Christopher Dube-Banda ordered Chiwenga to return the couple’s three minor children to the custody of Marry. Justice Dube-Bandaa also ruled that Chiwenga should allow Marry access to the couple’s sumptuous matrimonial home as well as access to three high-end luxury cars.

The ruling was made after Chiwenga allegedly threw Marry out of the couple’s home and ordered armed soldiers to bar her and to prevent her from entering the premises. Chiwenga also took custody of the couple’s children after Marry was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on a myriad of charges which include numerous counts of money laundering, externalisation as well as fraudulently solemnizing a customary marriage to the retired General. She is also facing the rather serious charge of attempting to murder the Vice President when he was critically ill in South Africa.

However, the combative former top military man has refused to accept defeat in this first battle of what could be a prolonged war between the two former lovebirds. By filing an appeal at the Supreme Court, this means that the order for him to transfer custody of the minor children within 24 hours is temporarily suspended until the matter is heard by the Supreme Court. 

For now, at least, the General gets to keep custody of the couple’s three minor children.
