Miss Universe Continental Divide To Be Removed This Year?

Miss Universe 2019 is just five days away from hosting its coronation night as the finale will be held on 8th December 2019 in USA where stunning beauties will compete for the coveted crown.

While the pageant is the most sought-after event of the year in the pageantry, there are still a few minor details which leave the most deserving contestants out of the rankings due to the format.

If sources are to be believed, this year, Miss Universe is letting go of the Continental Divide whilst selecting its Top 20 delegates to move forward in the contest. The continental groupings are not favoured by anyone because it just isn’t fair for the candidates, especially the region with a lot of strong contenders. This also gives the delegates from each and every continent to get a fair chance of winning Miss Universe.

There are also talks going around that this year the format of announcing the Top delegates will be changed to Top 20 to Top 6 to Final Top 3. The semi-finalists are selected on the basis of their Preliminary Competition results while one delegate based on the online voting automatically moves to the semi-finals.
The finale will begin with the announcement of the semi-finalists who will walk the runway during the swimsuit or athletic wear segment displaying her dedication to a healthy lifestyle. Then the second segment will begin as the contestants will walk in their evening gowns and thus the Top 6 will be selected.

With the change in the format and also getting rid of the continental divide, if the sources are right, this year’s edition will definitely be a treat to watch.

Who else is excited for the next Miss Universe?
