Has Nobody Told Issa Tchiroma That Mimi Mefo’s Post He Is Citing Did Not End There?

The post which is in a statement, November 8, by Cameroon government spokesperson and Communications Minister, Issa Tchiroma, is stating as the tweet which Journalist, Mimi Mefo is being prosecuted for, is incomplete.

Issa Tchiroma in the statement did not read the complete post he is citing as evidence, therefore he is actually misleading the population.

He omitted the most important part of that post which is the source on the ground. Leaving out this detail, discredits the charge for a start, and further fuels the growing feelings that Anglophone Journalists are a target for arbitrary arrests.

For anyone who is not on twitter, below is the complete post which Issa Tchiroma partially cited that Mimi Mefo twitted on October 30:

By every standards of news reporting, Mimi reported this story impartially and well balanced, pulling in from sources including that of the government which now want to prosecute her.

The Cameroon government particularly the Ministry of Communication should be praising Mimi Mefo and award this young journalist for the role she is playing in upholding such a high Journalism standards in Cameroon.

Alas, they prefer mediocrity.

Is the government arrogant attempts to hoodwink the population have sacrificed all trust?
