According to reports by camerounweb.com, the US billionaire with an estimated net worth of over 8 billion USD after donating same amount to his foundation is accused to have been the man behind the sponsoring of some opposition parties like MRC’s leader Maurice Kamto in the October 7th polls which was largely won by incumbent president Biya and whose results were heavily contested.

The US billionaire has been accused of causing trouble in the country before, six months ago; he was accused of funding the so called Ambazonia movement which is seeking the independence of the English speaking North West and South West regions from the rest of the country and conflict there has left hundreds death, tens of thousands displaced and many villages burnt.

Soros has not denied or accepted claims that he is funding the movement which seeks to divide the country by fighting for independence for the English speaking regions of the country.
