Professor Maurice Kamto of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement has refused to accept President Paul Biya’s victory in the October 7 presidential election, as proclaimed by the Constitutional Council.
The Cameroon Constitutional Council made known the winner of the October 7, 2018 presidential election yesterday October 22 in a solemn session of the Constitutional Council at the Yaoundé Conference Centre.
However, Professor Maurice Kamto, presidential candidate for the CRM part has rejected the result, claiming “the winner did not win”.

Maurice Kamto emerged second in the election with a total percentage of 14.23%, losing to the proclaimed winner Paul Biya of the CPDM party, who according to the official result of the Constitutional Council won with a 71.28percent.
Worthy of note is the fact that, the said Constitutional council rejected all the petitions from the CRM and other opposition political parties in the country, calling for a partial or total cancellation of the election.
Kamto in a video outing yesterday says he won the elections by over 39%.
