Cameroon: Matomba Calls On Opposition Coalition Ahead Of Legislative, Municipal Elections

The flag bearer of of the United People for Social Renovation at the October 7 Presidential election Serge Espoir Matomba has called on the opposition to come together and form a force ahead of the municipal and legislative elections next year.


He made the call on Tuesday October 23 in a statement released on his appraisal of the Presidential election a day after the Constitutional Council declared Paul Biya winner of the October 7 polls.

Matomba who finished eighth amongst the nine candidates with 0.56 percent said the results proclaimed by the Constitutional Council do not reflect the reality on the ground but however called on citizens and political actors to double their efforts.
Serge Espoir Matomba thus called on Cameroonians to register massively ahead of the Municipal and Legislative elections scheduled next year.

He then extended the cry to all opposition leaders to put forces together so as to sweep 100 seats durring the Legislative election and 300 councils during the Municipal election.
