Breaking News - US Embassy Warns Citizens Of Possible Unrest In The NW And SW

The Embassy of the United States of America in Yaounde, Cameroun, has cautioned US citizens against possible demonstrations from October 1 till when Presidential polls open, adding that the one year anniversary of demonstrations could be bloody.

Event: U.S. Embassy Yaoundé informs U.S. citizens that protests and demonstrations are likely to occur in the Northwest and Southwest Regions on or around October 1. This is the one-year anniversary of demonstrations throughout both Regions, which led to fatalities.

Furthermore, presidential elections are scheduled for October 7. There is increased potential for political unrest throughout Cameroon during the campaign season, on Election Day and when results are tallied and announced. Rallies, demonstrations, and protests may occur with little notice. 
As with all large events, there is the opportunity for criminal elements or other violent elements to target participants as well as observers and innocent bystanders.
