Popular United Family International Church (UFIC) leader Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa yesterday, called on Zimbabweans to exercise the highest level of restraint and continue praying for peace to prevail in the coming days saying ‘danger’ is knocking on the nation’s door steps.
Speaking to thousands of congregants at the UFI church in Chitungwiza, in a candid cautionary tone, concerning the existing political environment, Prophet Makandiwa pleaded with Zimbabweans to avoid anything to do with bloodshed.
“Our nation needs prayers, so sad what we see happening. People are dying while going about their business. Anything can happen. Danger is knocking at our doors. We don’t want to live under threats”, he said, to deafening silence.
“We want to be sure we go about our business and stay in peace. If you hear people who are always talking about war and interested in it, they have never experienced war. There is nothing good about it,” he continued.

Commenting on a social media video showing one Zimbabwean soldier assuming a marksmanship stable firing position to gun down fleeing unarmed civilians, with live ammunition, Prophet Makandiwa did not mince his words.
“We all saw a terrible sight in our town. Something that you don’t think could happen. There are some other countries used to that but not us, we are not used to that. I saw a video of one soldier taking cover and feeling like he is in the bush while in town.”
“Right in town he felt like he was in war. What is the problem with you?”, he rhetorically charged! In an apparent reference to both Emerson Mnangagwa and Nelson Chamisa, the two leading contenders for Zimbabwe’s top job who have since taken their election results dispute to the Constitutional Court (ConCourt) starting on Wednesday at 10am. The widely respected man of God said there is no politician worth dying for.
“Hapana chinhu chakapusa sekufira mu politician. Don’t waste your time kufira ma politicians. They all lie and that’s why I struggle attending rallies. I am not saying do not support them no, but do not be involved in anything to do with bloodshed”, he said.

“I value life. Anyone who promotes bloodshed must be the first one to go then others. I will not compromise on this one. We want peace!”, he added.The ConCourt case that will decide Zimbabwe’s next leader is feared to result in bloodshed as it presents a difficult test for the Zimbabwean judiciary with its subsequent ruling having far-reaching implications for the nation’s highly partisan politics and future.
Main opposition leader, Chamisa is challenging Mnangagwa’s contentious win, saying it was secured through widespread manipulation, irregularities and fraud, charges the president-elect vehemently denies.
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has since revised President-elect Emmerson Mnangagwa's winning margin from 50.8% to 50.67% in opposing papers filed in ConCourt petition after noting errors in own data highlighted by Chamisa's electoral court challenge.
The UFIC leader said many people are praying for the nation of Zimbabwe but the devil is looking for the slightest opportunity to trigger unrest and bloodshed.
