Barely 24 hours after the Government of Cameroon unveiled an emergency humanitarian assistance for the crisis-stricken North West and South West Regions, elites have proceeded to launch the process.
Meeting at the Yaounde City Council Hall on Thursday, elites from the North West and South West to 236,000,000 CFA to kick start the 12 billion CFA francs operation which the government is seekeing to bring help to the affected population.Prime Minister Philemon Yang led the opening of the contributions with 4 million CFA francs, as some elites of the region followed with business tycoon Baba Danpullo contributing 50 million.

Other contributions came from Marcel Niat Njifenji, President of the Senate (5 million CFA francs), Cavaye Yegui Djibril, President of the National Assembly (4 million CFA francs) and Philemon Yang, Prime Minister (4 million francs CFA).
However, the Minister of External Relations, the Mbella Mbella Mbella was embarassed at 1 million CFA francs and promised to add 1.5 million CFA francs later.
Other members of the government, such as Jacques Fame Ndongo (Minesup), Madeleine Tchuente (Minnesi) and Narcisse Mouelle Kombi (Minac), contributed 2 million CFA francs each.
The total sum contributed to the Minister of Territorial Administration. Paul Atanga Nji who has been placed in charge of the coordinator of the operation.
The operation will continue in the future ahead of the various groups and individuals will look to their own finances to help the affected population in the Anglophone regions.
