According to UNHCR report, the refugee population drops by 6,140 people in 3 months, while new arrivals are reported in Gourounguel camp.
In a report published on April 12, 2018, on the situation of refugees in Cameroon, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has revealed that Cameroon currently has 659,807 people of concern, including 249,053 refugees Central African Republic and 89,543 Nigerian refugees.
Compared with the 665,947 refugees registered by the same organization in January 2018, there is a decrease in the refugee population in Cameroon, of the order of 6,140 persons.

In accordance with UNHCR, this population of refugees settled in Cameroon could increase in the coming weeks, because of the “significant increase in arrivals of new refugees at the Gourounguel transit center in the Far North Region of Cameroon”.
