Despite the warnings of President Paul Biya against any attempt to flee Cameroon and the withdrawal of his passport, Basile Atangana Kouna wanted to board a Turkish Airlines flight.
He was arrested this morning at 4am at Yaounde Nsimalen airport with a child.
Holder of several passports, it is not his first time to want to flee Cameroon. He had tried to escape well before the cabinet reshuffle of March 2, 2018.
He is not the only one in this case. Former Minister of Transport Mebe Ngo'o was also ordered not to leave Cameroon. His passport was also removed. According to sources, the home of Atangana Kouna and her friend Mebe Ngo'o are currently under close surveillance.
